1. Find the build year before anything gets ordered

   Samsung bought Dacor in 2016, and ovens built before and after that get parts from different supply chains. The model plate tells you which one you've got. Guess wrong, and a visit gets wasted waiting on a part that was never going to fit.

2. Put a thermometer in the oven

   When the temperature probe drifts, the oven thinks it's reached the set temperature when it hasn't. The display looks right and the food cooks wrong. A separate oven thermometer catches it in one bake. Staring at the control panel never will.

3. Check the door before blaming the element

   Worn hinges let the door sit crooked, and heat leaks out the whole time. You see uneven baking, but it's a mechanical problem, not an electrical one.

4. A bad board on an older Dacor is a decision point

   On a Dacor built before the Samsung sale, a control board is where the repair can stop making sense money-wise. Talk it through before the work starts, not after the part shows up.

5. Keep the model and serial handy

   The exact build decides what we bring, more than on most brands. Snap a photo of the model plate on your phone and the first call goes a lot faster.

A Dacor doesn't add up like a budget machine. The usual rule: if it's past halfway through its life and the repair costs more than half the price of new, replace it. On equipment built to last twenty years, you hit that point a lot later. Our tech will tell you where yours stands, even when the right answer is not to spend the money with us.
