Most no-cool calls aren't a dead compressor. Nine times out of ten it's the start relay (the little switch that kicks the compressor on), the condenser fan motor, or coils packed solid with dust. Arizona is hard on refrigerators. At 110 to 115 degrees the compressor barely gets a rest, and a unit in the garage is working in heat it was never built for.

Frigidaire fridges are simple inside, so they're quick to figure out and cheap to fix when it's a common problem. Almost all of them cool both sides from a single evaporator, the cold coil behind the freezer wall. So if the fridge side is warm and the freezer is cold, look at the evaporator fan or a stuck damper (the little door that lets cold air into the fridge side), not the compressor. The other common call is defrost. When the defrost heater or timer fails, frost builds up on that coil until air can't get through, and the fridge warms up while the compressor runs nonstop. The defrost drain plugs up a lot on these. You'll see water under the crisper drawers, and it's about as cheap a repair as there is. In Arizona, and in a garage most of all, the condenser coils (the grille of tubes under or behind the fridge) decide how long the fridge lasts. Dust plus extreme heat kills these compressors long before age would.
